After spending eight years at Pizza Hut, Chequan Lewis decided it was time for a change. He used to be a big shot at one of the world’s largest pizza companies. Now, he’s moving to Crunch Fitness to take on a new important role. He’s excited to work with a brand he really cares about and make it even better.
Lewis is excited about Crunch. He believes in extending the legacy of the former Crunch Franchise CEO, Ben Midgley.
Despite the name, Crunch Fitness isn’t just about getting a six-pack. The brand celebrates diversity and a “No judgment” philosophy. It’s also been known for unusual classes, including pole dancing, cardio dance workouts, and “Abs, Thighs and Gossip,” a class led by a drag queen. The brand has more than 450 locations across 41 states and six countries.
“I’m fired up to join the Crunch team on our journey to deliver legendary experiences for our Members, Gym Teams, and Franchisees,” said Chequan Lewis. “As a lifelong fitness enthusiast with a passion for franchising, coming to Crunch feels like a homecoming. I’m excited to grow the Crunch legend alongside a talented team and a committed franchise network.”
During Midgley’s tenure since 2009, the franchising of Crunch Fitness has achieved remarkable results, setting new standards of excellence in the industry. Midgley has taken the Crunch franchise business from conception to being one of the fast-growing fitness concepts in 41 states and seven countries, with 460+ gyms, more than 2.5 million members, and the #1 Fitness franchise on the Entrepreneur 500® list.
Rowley said Ben’s strong dedication to Crunch. Our members, and franchise owners have helped us grow quickly. Having Ben on the Board means franchise partners will keep getting support and someone to speak up for them in Crunch’s plans. It’s the perfect step as we aim for more growth in 2024 and beyond.”
